Alex Von Furstenberg Decides the Fate Of his Family Foundation
Alex Von Furstenberg acting as a Secretary and Director of Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation created with the philosophy of “When community thrives, its members flourish” supports different direct service organizations that are effecting meaningful lasting changes in the communities of all sizes from neighborhoods to nations. The main contribution and purpose of the foundation is to support the day-today efforts of different organizations that drive them to indulge in variety of social causes whose commitment is to bring upon changes in the community service. All the efforts of afterschool program, paying salaries to social workers to reach the needy providing endowments to educational institutions at different levels and programs to encourage artistic literacy and individual achievements in children and many such similar causes.
Until now, the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation has donated a sum of $ 30 million to different nonprofit organizations and institutions working in the field of education, community reform, human rights, environment advocacy, disease research, child care, arts and humanities and different such genres. Individually Alex Von Furstenberg has provided full fledge support to Exceptional Education Outreach wherein every child should get fair and impartial opportunities to reach his or her full potential.
One of the other priorities of Alex Von Furstenberg is to maintain green belt within an urban setting and High Line in New York City is the best example of his achievements and his philanthropic deeds. For the same purpose, his Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation has donated a whopping sum of $20 million, which is considered as the topmost donation still they have received. Although there is a lot more to refurnishing and redesigning work to be carried out in this park Fiends of the High Line is solely responsible for the maintenance of this park. However, it was never possible without the similar interest and all the help they have got in the form of License agreement with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Recently,Alex Von Furstenberg being the secretary and Director of his family foundation decided to help Roy W. Roberts II- Watts/Willowbrook Boys and Girls Club after having a understood the concept of foundation from its Executive Director Les Jones. In addition, he pledges to offer a generous help of $ 50,000 to help them improve the Los Angeles Club that is ultimately going to benefit the children of the club. The same amount is being used for jumpstarting the symphony orchestra music program that will include instructions, appreciation and access to different types of music.
